Bewley’s Café will officially open its doors as a wedding venue with the launch of its first ever wedding fair this Saturday. (Feb 17)
Last November, a couple approached Bewley’s with the dream of getting married in the iconic Dublin café, where their first date had taken place 20 years before.
It brought the vision of Luke Carton and Sarah Brittain from Perrystown to life, hosting their wedding ceremony and reception for 90 people in the venue’s upstairs area.
“Getting married here was a fantasy of ours, and it went like a dream. The whole staff got behind it and it was like we had another family putting on the day,” said Sarah Brittain.
“The team at the café took us through the whole process – from the most amazing food tasting through to fixing my dress on the day.
“The food was unbelievable – a lot of the guests said it was the best wedding food they ever had.”
Since then, Bewley’s has received numerous wedding enquiries and the independent family-owned business, which first opened its doors in 1927, was inspired to respond to customer demand.
“Bewley’s is known as a landmark in the heart of Dublin city, where people can enjoy lunch or afternoon tea immersed in the ambience of our historic spaces,” said Felix Campbell, Bewley’s Events Manager.
“With stunning mosaics and stained glass, our interior lends itself as a backdrop to weddings and private events, plus our catering team can deliver on taste.
“We are thrilled to be officially up and running and available for bookings as a wedding venue.”
Felix will guide attendees through the space on Saturday, while head chef, Aleksandar Saric, and an expert team of Bewley’s patisserie chefs, will be on hand to provide tasters and catering consultation. The event runs from 11am-4pm and there is no charge.
