‘Kindest school’ in Ireland collects record number of Christmas shoeboxes for children

Students at Ireland’s “kindest school” in Co Wexford have collected a record-breaking number of Christmas shoeboxes for children affected by poverty.

Transition Year pupils at the FCJ Secondary School in Bunclody have sourced more than 30,000 Team Hope shoeboxes filled with presents over the past two decades.

The packed shoeboxes were shipped to Africa and Eastern Europe for children who may otherwise not have received any Christmas gift.

It comes as Team Hope launched its 2026 Christmas shoebox appeal this month, calling on schools, families and organisations in Ireland to get behind this year’s campaign. READ MORE
