Acclaimed Irish sculptor Patrick O’Reilly says ‘artists will adapt to the AI challenge’

Internationally acclaimed Irish sculptor Patrick O’Reilly has said AI heralds a revolution for artists.

Speaking from his studio near Lugano in Switzerland, Mr O’Reilly, whose works fetch in the region of €250,000, likened the dawn of AI to the invention of the camera and the panic it caused among painters.

His comments come after the Government was warned it needs to do more to protect artists from AI. 

Earlier this month, a motion to protect the copyright of Irish artists in the era of AI was “unanimously adopted” after being debated in the Dáil. READ MORE
