A Dublin jeweller who designed and created 10 rings for ‘Lord of the Rings’ director Peter Jackson’s latest movie is among the creative talents at a new craft fair in Dublin.
Pierce Healy was selected by Oscar-winning Jackson to design the rings for his new film ‘Mortal Engines’.
More than 45,000 people are expected to generate in excess of €1m per day in sales over the five days of Gifted – The Contemporary Craft and Design Fair at the RDS.
With more than 500 designers, makers and artisan food producers displaying original gifts, Gifted runs until Sunday.
Healy studied for his master’s in fine art jewellery in Sweden and said the building sites of his Dublin childhood provided the inspiration for the rings.
“A friend I met in Sweden was working in Jackson’s studios, she suggested my style would be perfect for ‘Mortal Engines’,” he said.
